Basil Lemonade

Course: 
Cool off with this refreshing treat!
Ingredients: 
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 2 large lemons)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (torn)
  • Water
  • Ice
Directions: 

Dissolve the granulated sugar in 1/4 cup of water in a small pot on medium heat. Allow to cool.
Muddle together lemon juice and basil leaves, using a muddler or wooden spoon.
Add 2/3 cup of cold water and the cooled sugar syrup to the crushed basil. Mix well and serve with ice.
