Garlic Scapes

Garlic scapes are the flower bud that emerges from each garlic plant.  We pluck them from the plants in early summer, one per plant.  If it is not harvested, it will rob all the energy from the bulb of the garlic and the resulting garlic head will be small.  Luckily we get the best of both worlds; wonderful scapes and large beautiful bulbs! Garlic scapes are delicious and a wonderful early summer treat.
