Collards are a fine sturdy green renown in southern cooking. These guys pack a nutritional punch full of vitamins and minerals.

Storage tips: 

Store unwashed in a plastic bag up to a week in the refrigerator. Collards also freeze well. Blanch washed greens for 2-3 minutes, rinse with cold water and drain well. Pack into zip lock bags and freeze.

Cooking tips: 
Wash collards well to remove any grit. Collards are a wonderful green that have many diverse uses. They need a little more cooking time then other greens because they are a little tougher but can be cooked just about any way including sauteed, steamed, in soups, etc.
