From our fields, for your family

Chard (or Swiss Chard) is a green in the spinach family and has a similar flavor. Some consider it one of the healthiest vegetables!  It comes in all different colors of  the rainbow and can be quite striking in dishes.  Locally grown and fresh, our chard is especially sweet. Chard is wonderful steamed, sauteed, stir-fried, and cooked into dishes.

Storage tips:

Chard can be frozen with good success. Just chop it up and blanch it. Then put into freezer bags, squeeze out as much as air as possible and into the freezer it goes! No more longing for greens in the winter!

Cooking tips:
Swiss chard is a very tender green, and cooks similarly to spinach. Can be served as a side on its on, in casseroles, and also raw in salads.
