From our fields, for your family

We grow the traditional green snap beans and the unusual flat purple streaked yellow podded "Dragon" variety.

July, August, September
Storage tips:

Beans freeze well but should be blanched before freezing. Boil a pot of water and prepare beans (removed ends and cut into pieces). Prepare a cold water bath with ice. When water boils, place the beans into water for about a minute or two. Remove beans and place in cold water bath until cool. Put in freezer bags, remove as much air as possible and freeze.

Cooking tips:
Fresh green beans are great unadulterated. Steam them up and sprinkle some salt or lemon and they are delicious as they are. Also, add them to stir fries and soups.
